Hi, I'm Laurie

I am a wedding & portrait photographer based in Calgary, Alberta.

 

I love finding unique perspectives and delivering images that are striking, well-composed, and tell a story. My editing style leans towards images that are crisp, clean, bright, and warm.

I studied Film and Video Production in post-secondary and have been working as a videographer for the past seven years (www.picturesup.ca), but found a passion for photography along the way. I am self-taught and constantly learning how to better my craft.  Every image tells a story on its own -- and I can't wait to start working on yours!

Lets Get Personal

 

I was born in Pretoria, South Africa, and moved to Canada with my family when I was seven years old. What a change in weather! I have been living in Calgary ever since and have grown to love this city. I love spending time at the river and adventuring in the mountains that we are so privileged to be so close to. I have a beautiful dog named Mila who is a German shepherd-border collie mix. She is the absolute cutest.

Aside from working with cameras, I love staying active. I play basketball every week and enjoy playing beach volleyball in the warmer months.

I also love movies! Fun fact - I spent many years working in Calgary's film industry. I have worked on productions such as Fargo, Wynonna Earp, Heartland, & The Last of Us to name a few.
